Kindergarten Lunch Bunch Class Schedule

We are so excited about our kindergarten lunch bunch classes this fall!  Classes are from 11:27-12:27; children should bring a nut-free lunch from home. There is no bus service offered for these classes, therefore students who normally ride the bus should be dropped off and picked up.  Military discounts and/or scholarships are available.  More details and pricing information will follow with formal registration materials.  The schedule is as follows:

MAD SCIENCE
Mondays
A popular science workshop offered once a week at Wayne Thomas.  Children engage in exciting hands-on activities, watch spectacular demonstrations, join inquiry-based discussions and make amazing take-homes like model rockets, periscopes, Mad Science putty and more.  The Mad Science after-school program offers students a chance to see just how cool science can be.

MINDFUL PRACTICES YOGA
Tuesdays
Mindful Practices' innovative yoga, Hip-Hop Yoga and movement programs are exciting and innovative courses that combine movement, strength building, breathe work, journaling, and math and writing activities all into one session!  Each class begins with a safe and fun yoga warm-up where students will learn many different poses and flow sequences and series including Sun Rise Salutation.  Students will also learn energizing AND calming breathing techniques which can be carried over into their daily lives such as before tests!  Along with the physical and wellness benefits of Yoga, this program also incorporates a math and literary component into its curriculum.  For further information, please feel free to visit our website at www.mindfulpracticesyoga.com.

YOUNG REMBRANDTS: DRAWING & LUNCH
Wednesdays
Encourage your kindergartener’s enthusiasm for drawing.  Young Rembrandts introduces drawing lessons that will excite your budding artist.  Learning to draw basic shapes is an essential building block for every artist.  Our lady bug and gumball machine provide excellent practice for drawing circle shapes.  From there, our lessons will become more challenging.  The clown puppet and Frankenstein monster are great introductions to character drawings.  Other drawings like the delicious candy bag and beautiful fall scene will strengthen your child’s compositional skills.

MAKING MUSIC FUN
Thursdays
Kindergartners will have a wonderful time singing, dancing, playing and learning to make musical instruments.  Linda Lubell (a Wayne Thomas parent) is currently a teacher with Old Town School of Folk Music’s acclaimed Wiggleworms program and has many years of experience as both a music and classroom teacher.  She’ll lead the children in fun and creative activities to give them an enriching musical experience!
